University of Wollongong and EWIE Usher in a New Stage of Cooperation

On October 28, 2025, Professor G.Q. Max Lu AO, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Wollongong (UOW), led a delegation to Beijing to attend the university’s 50th Anniversary celebration. Mr. WANG Wei, President of East & West International Education Group (EWIE), and Mr. JIN Xiaojun, Deputy Director of the Institute for East & West International Education, met with the delegation and held in-depth discussions on further strengthening China–Australia education collaboration.

The cooperation between the University of Wollongong and EWIE has spanned more than 15 years. Both sides have accumulated rich experience in international foundation programs, academic progression, and student services, establishing a solid and efficient cooperation mechanism. Over the years, the University of Wollongong has highly recognized EWIE’s long-term support and professional service. The university has officially recognized EWIE’s programs — International Foundation Certificate (IFC), International Year One (IYO), and International Pre-Master Program (IPMP) — providing Chinese students with high-quality academic pathways and diversified options for international progression.

Both sides expressed that they would take this meeting as an opportunity to further expand cooperation in curriculum development, student recruitment, and support services, promoting China–Australia educational collaboration to a higher level. This successful exchange not only demonstrates the strong foundation built over the past fifteen years but also lays a solid basis for creating a closer and more pragmatic strategic partnership in the future.
