27 Years in International Education: EWIE Vice President Wang Huanchen on Innovation and the Future of Global Learning

On 25 April, during the 2026 Beijing International Education and Career Planning Expo, Mr Wang Huanchen, Vice President of East & West International Education Group (EWIE) and General Manager of Wiseway, spoke with media about the Group’s development, innovative products, and the evolving landscape of international education.

With 27 years in the sector, Mr Wang described how EWIE has grown from a study abroad agency into a full-cycle international education platform — now serving not just students and families, but universities and schools across China through teacher training, curriculum co-development, and programme delivery.

Mr Wang highlighted three flagship products.

Scholars Hub is EWIE’s PhD application programme, addressing the information gap in the traditional application process by connecting students directly with over 100 overseas university professors for real-time admissions information and criteria.

Global Competence Development has been implemented at more than 160 universities nationwide since its launch in 2020–2021. The programme offers 12 curriculum modules covering AI, international relations, and cross-cultural communication, complemented by overseas study tours to EU institutions and international organisations.

Global Employability Development helps students build career awareness and competitiveness through practical training, covering career planning, CV development, and international business, with employment resources spanning Belt and Road countries as well as Europe and North America.

Looking ahead, Mr Wang sees international education shifting from outcome-oriented to competence-oriented, with greater emphasis on global competence, innovation, and cross-cultural skills. EWIE will continue to advance its products and services to help more Chinese students engage with the world.

EWIE President Mr Wang Wei Visits UNESCO Headquarters in Paris

On the afternoon of 21 April, Mr Wang Wei, President of East & West International Education Group (EWIE), visited the headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris. Mr Wang held in-depth discussions with Ms Assel Utegenova and Ms Olga Genenko, senior officials from UNESCO’s Division of External Relations and Africa, along with other accompanying staff.

As a specialised agency of the United Nations, UNESCO is committed to building peace through international cooperation in education, science, culture, and communication. Central to its founding mission is the belief that “political and economic arrangements of governments are not enough to secure the lasting and sincere support of the peoples” — peace must be built upon the intellectual and moral solidarity of humanity.

During the meeting, both parties discussed the important role of UNESCO Clubs and Associations in advancing the organisation’s core priorities. Through community-level practice, skills sharing, and broadening of perspectives, these associations have become a meaningful force in promoting cross-cultural exchange and peacebuilding.

The conversation also focused on UNESCO’s “Global Youth Leadership” agenda, which has gained significant international traction in recent years, and on how EWIE can contribute to the development of the UNESCO Clubs and Associations Global Youth Leaders Forum. Both sides reached agreement on future cooperation, with plans to jointly design and implement a series of innovative programmes aimed at deepening exchange and development between Chinese youth leaders and their peers around the world.

East & West International Education Group Showcases at BIECE 2026

From 25 to 27 April, East & West International Education Group (EWIE) participated in the 2026 Beijing International Education and Career Planning Expo (BIECE), showcasing its eight core business segments and key milestones in international education. Mr Wang Huanchen, Vice President of EWIE and General Manager of Wiseway, was interviewed by China Education Television, sharing his perspectives on international education trends and talent development.

Centred on the concept of “full-chain services and whole-cycle development,” EWIE presented integrated solutions spanning international education research, talent development, curriculum systems, university placement services, and employability enhancement — further reinforcing its positioning as a platform-based international education service provider.

EWIE’s eight core segments cover the full student journey: industry research through the Institute for East & West International Education; university partnerships and joint programmes; talent development focused on global competence and international employability; diversified international curricula including IFC, IYO, and IPMP; comprehensive study abroad services via Wiseway; study tours and experiential learning; and language training covering IELTS, TOEFL, and multiple languages.

During the expo, representatives from universities, education providers, and student families held in-depth discussions with EWIE on transnational education, curriculum co-development, and programme implementation. Preliminary cooperation agreements were reached across several areas, laying the foundation for future collaboration.

Looking ahead, EWIE will continue to enhance its international education ecosystem, improve talent development systems, and contribute to cultivating well-rounded, globally competitive talent.
