EWIE President Mr. Wang Delivers Keynote Speech at the 2025 Annual Conference of the Association For Student Employment

Recently, the 2025 Annual Conference of the Association For Student Employment was successfully held in Shanghai. At the sub-forum titled “Industry–City–University Integration and Regional Talent Strategy Development,” Mr. Wei Wang, President of East & West International Education Group (EWIE), delivered a keynote speech entitled “Cultivating Global Employability: Building Global Competitiveness of Regional Talent.”

In his address, Mr. Wang emphasized that amid accelerating globalization, regional economic transformation and industrial upgrading have created an increasingly urgent demand for high-quality talent equipped with international perspectives and strong cross-cultural communication capabilities. He provided a comprehensive overview of the implementation progress and notable outcomes of Global Employability Development (GED).

In its first phase, GED selected 60 universities nationwide as pilot institutions. Through a diversified and systematic approach—including curriculum enhancement, faculty development, and the expansion of international exchanges and partnerships—the program has effectively strengthened students’ global employability and international career readiness.

As an important component of the annual conference, the sub-forum served as a valuable platform for in-depth dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders from government, industry, academia, research institutions, and applied sectors. Mr. Wang’s insightful presentation not only demonstrated EWIE’s professional expertise and forward-looking vision in the field of global employability development, but also offered valuable perspectives for enhancing the global competitiveness of regional talent.

Looking ahead, EWIE will continue to deepen its commitment to Global Employability Development (GED), providing universities and students with more comprehensive and professional support services, and empowering more young talents to step onto the global stage and achieve their career aspirations.

In 2025, EWIE successfully launched and operated the IFC (International Foundation Certificate) Program at SYSU’s Guangzhou East Campus. With its well-structured curriculum, high-quality teaching services, and strong student outcomes, the program received high recognition from the School, and EWIE was awarded the “Outstanding Corporate Partner Award.”

The IFC International Foundation Program is one of EWIE’s core programs, dedicated to supporting Chinese students in progressing to leading universities worldwide. This collaboration reflects both SYSU’s academic strengths and EWIE’s continued commitment to international education and lifelong learning.

Looking ahead, EWIE will continue to deepen its cooperation with Sun Yat-sen University in non-degree international education programs and jointly explore high-quality, innovative, and internationalized education pathways, contributing to global talent development in the Greater Bay Area and beyond.
