On 16 January , East & West International Education Group (EWIE) recently welcomed a senior delegation from Durham University, including Professor Andrew Gallant, Head of the Department of Engineering and Professor Markus Hausmann, Head of the Department of Psychology. The delegation was warmly received by President WANG Wei.
During the meeting, both sides held in-depth discussions on the evolving dynamics of the Chinese study abroad market and the potential for deeper, long-term collaboration. Durham University highly recognized EWIE’s long-standing contribution in supporting and enrolling a large number of high-quality Chinese students.
The discussions focused on recent trends among Chinese students, including shifts in subject preferences, increasingly diversified study abroad needs, and a growing emphasis on career-oriented outcomes. The two parties also exchanged views on potential collaboration in areas such as academic exchange, joint research, talent development, and other partnership models. This exchange laid a solid foundation for advancing future cooperation.
