On 11 March 2026, Mr. Wang Wei, Chairman of East & West International Education Group (EWIE), was invited to visit Hefei University. He held a meeting with representatives of the university. The two sides exchanged views on deepening international education cooperation and advancing joint international programmes.
During the meeting, Chairman Wang introduced the development history, business layout and core strengths of EWIE, and stated that the Group will fully align with Hefei University’s international development needs and support the university in enhancing its global education capacity.
The university warmly welcomed the visit and provided an overview of its progress and development plans in international education, expressing the hope that cooperation with universities in English-speaking countries could be further strengthened by leveraging EWIE’s international resources.
It was also noted that the university is actively advancing cooperation with UK universities in areas including joint research platforms, doctoral programme development, international student recruitment, and graduate employability enhancement. For future Sino-foreign cooperative education programmes, the university intends to partner with highly ranked overseas institutions. Meanwhile, it will support the implementation of the Global Competence Programme and the Global Employability Programme, and explore credit-transfer pathways such as “2+2” and “1+1” programmes with universities in the UK, Australia and Canada.
The discussions also covered the university’s upcoming overseas visits, with both sides expressing the hope of further expanding partnerships with universities in English-speaking countries through EWIE’s international network, in order to accelerate the launch of international programmes at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Both sides agreed to maintain continuous communication, further clarify cooperation intentions, and promote the implementation of specific collaborative projects. This visit has built an important bridge for aligning with the university’s international development needs, effectively supported the steady implementation of the “Project for Assisting the International Development of Universities in the New Era”, and laid a solid foundation for comprehensive and in‑depth cooperation between the two parties.
